Helping Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington achieve their goals for student success

-->

The Northwest Comprehensive Center (NWCC) provides intensive capacity-building support to education agencies across a five-state region spanning more than 1 million square miles. Learn how we help each state use evidence-based practices to achieve their priorities.

Alaska

Alaska

NWCC partners with the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development to advance state priorities in literacy, career exploration, and teacher recruitment and retention, especially in rural and remote communities.

Idaho

Idaho

The Idaho Department of Education and NWCC are working together to improve agency processes, policies, and guidance and strengthen educator practice statewide.

Montana

Montana

NWCC and the Montana Office of Public Instruction collaborate to strengthen school improvement processes and improve data tracking and student outcomes related to postsecondary success.

Oregon

Oregon

NWCC supports the Oregon Department of Education to improve data tools, update standards, and align accountability systems so all students have access to high-quality learning from early childhood through adulthood.

Washington

Washington

To support the launch of new learning standards, NWCC and the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction are co-developing accessible family engagement materials.

Native Education Network

Native Education Network

This regional network brings together Native education teams from the five Northwest states to address cross-state Tribal issues and promote the success of American Indian and Alaska Native students. Together we share evidence-based practices, examine common challenges, and participate in structured peer consultation.

Cross-State AI Learning Series

Cross-State AI Learning Series

To prepare state education agencies to respond to rapid changes in technology, NWCC is leading a series of professional learning sessions on artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The quarterly series will begin in 2026.
